With 27,500 inhabitants, Boden has the charm of a small town where most things are conveniently close.
Since the early 20th century, the town has had Sweden's biggest and most important military garrison. Naturally, Boden is formed by its history, but to an equal degree by its numerous dynamic entrepreneurs.

Today you can visit for example Rödberg Fort, embedded in one of the mountains surrounding Boden.
