In the evenings and at weekends, you can reach Social Services’ emergency duty via the Security Centre on +46 921 777 02.

Suicide

Suicide prevention

If someone is threatening to take their own life, call 112 immediately. An operator will ensure that help is sent to the location. Help is also available if you or someone close to you is having suicidal thoughts.

If you are having suicidal thoughts

Do not keep these thoughts to yourself. Talk to someone you trust, call a support line, or seek medical care. You should not be alone, and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

How you can help someone with suicidal thoughts

Dare to ask directly if the person is thinking about taking their own life. Stay in the conversation and listen calmly. Talking about suicide does not increase the risk. Conversations can lead the person to seek help.
