Food services

The food service in Boden Municipality prepares around 3,500 meals every day for the municipality’s preschools, primary schools, upper secondary schools, care homes, and home care services.

We have a political objective to prioritise food in procurement as follows:

• Local / organic / including game and reindeer.
• Local.
• Swedish organic.

• Organic.

By offering environmentally smart meals and minimising food waste, we can avoid burdening the environment unnecessarily. We work with local suppliers mainly for dairy, meat, charcuterie, potatoes, and eggs. The milk served in schools is organic.

In school we offer two dishes every day, one of which is lacto-ovo-vegetarian. We offer common, traditional dishes and also encourage trying something new. We offer a food council for participation in the menu. The meals give everyone the opportunity to develop good eating habits and are an important part of the work for equal health. Applications for special and medical diets are made via the e-service.
