Accessibility report

The Municipality of Boden is responsible for this website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. This document describes how boden.se complies with the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services, any known accessibility issues, and how you can report problems so that we can fix them.

This website is not fully compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services. Non-accessible content is described below.

6. Non-accessible content

The content described below is, in one way or another, not fully accessible.

  • Some elements can receive focus even though they are not interactive.
  • Links in the mobile menu receive focus twice.
  • Elements behind pop-ups in the “In focus right now” section on the homepage can receive focus.
  • In event lists, each event can receive focus multiple times.
  • In search fields for waste collection and sludge emptying, invisible suggestions can receive focus.
  • Users can navigate behind the mobile menu and focus on elements that are not visible.
  • It can be difficult to reach search results when searching for events in the map view.
  • Filter buttons in the operations map cannot be reached using a keyboard.
  • When booking at Restaurant Viljan, users must accept terms and conditions, but the link to open them is not keyboard accessible.
  • When creating an account on the events page, a pop-up with login options appears. This pop-up closes when using the Tab key, making it inaccessible by keyboard.
  • In expandable menus on the events page, it is difficult to focus all options, and none can be activated using a keyboard.
  • Keyboard users can get trapped in the bicycle map frame and cannot navigate away from it.

  • When searching the website, all search results may be read aloud.
  • Event addresses are not read by screen readers.
  • Several buttons on the events page have labels that do not describe their function.
  • The “like” button changes its name depending on whether the event is liked.
  • Some elements on the events page are read in English.
  • Users can get stuck in the event page carousel.
  • Links in the mobile menu are announced as buttons, and associated icons are also read aloud.
  • The search field is read multiple times.
  • In calendars and event filters, screen readers do not announce whether expandable buttons are open or closed.
  • Error messages are not read in the Bodenxt newsletter form.
  • The Bodenxt newsletter form may be read with English pronunciation.
  • Screen readers announce filters on the events page even when they are not visible.
  • In the booking calendar for Restaurant Viljan, the day of the week is not announced. When navigating between days, the month may change without being announced.
  • The “copy link” button for sharing events has an English label. When the label changes after copying, this is not announced.
  • Additional information in expandable help text cannot be read by screen readers.
  • Instructions connected to form fields are not announced, and required fields are not always identified.
  • Multiple icons are announced unnecessarily.
  • Screen readers do not announce selected categories when reporting a bug.
  • Several images have incorrect alternative text.
  • Users are not informed about the number of search results in meeting calendars.
  • Screen readers may announce incorrect numbers of results and mix languages.
  • Images in guides and events lack alternative text descriptions.
  • Pagination and booking steps are not announced.
  • Error states are not announced in several forms.
  • Some buttons lack accessible names.
  • Cookie buttons have unclear labels.
  • Subtitles in videos cannot be read by screen readers.

  • Headings on the events page are not marked up correctly.
  • Some headings use incorrect levels.
  • Line breaks may be announced as “empty”.
  • Several tables lack row or column headers.
  • Lists are not properly coded.
  • The close button in pop-ups appears late in the reading order.
  • Some links and their icons/images are coded as separate links.
  • The website lacks skip links.

  • The organisation number in the footer is truncated at larger text spacing or medium screen sizes.
  • Event carousels scroll automatically and cannot be paused.
  • Some pop-ups may appear behind other elements.
  • Form instructions have low contrast.
  • Some content uses images of text instead of real text.
  • Several texts have low contrast.
  • Search term highlighting relies only on colour.
  • At 400% zoom, content overlaps and headings are hidden.
  • The search field may be cut off or hidden when zoomed.
  • Some buttons become difficult to see on hover.
  • Focus indicators are missing in several places.
  • The website does not support dark mode.

  • Filtering may remove visible text from results.
  • Some search functions reload the page without showing results.
  • Booking flows may require users to reselect choices unnecessarily.
  • Filters may shift position and not show selected options clearly.
  • Pages may scroll unexpectedly.
  • Search suggestions may overwrite user input.
  • Some interactive elements disappear when focused.
  • Filter links may stop working as links.
  • Some links only work on certain pages.
  • The “My events” page grows indefinitely, making the footer unreachable.
  • The website language may change unexpectedly.

  • Some labels are not correctly associated with form fields.
  • Error messages do not explain how to fix issues.
  • Some forms do not support autofill.
  • Required fields are not clearly explained.
  • Mixed language pronunciation may occur.
  • Some buttons have inconsistent or unclear labels.
  • Some components (like maps, frames) are not accessible.
  • Links with identical text may lead to different pages, and vice versa.
  • Some links and functions do not work on smaller screens.
  • Some pages link to incorrect content.
  • Several videos lack subtitles or audio descriptions.
  • Some forms lack proper labels.
  • Some content is only accessible visually.
  • Documents are not accessible.

7. How we tested the website
