Gun Salute in Boden today

Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf celebrates his 80th birthday today on Walpurgis Eve. The King’s birthday is being celebrated nationwide with major festivities. Here in Boden, his 80th birthday is honored by the Swedish Armed Forces with a ceremonial gun salute.

This will take place at Kvarnängen at 12:00 today.

In connection with the firing, the area will be cordoned off, but anyone who wishes to view the salute from a distance is welcome.

The traditional Walpurgis celebrations in Boden will also take place at Kvarnängen and begin at 16:45. More information about the Walpurgis program can be found here.
