Hourly fee and processing time examples

The hourly fee is 1246 Swedish kronor for 2026. The cost is the number of hours multiplied by the hourly fee.

Cases charged by the hourly fee

• New permanent premises licence (including knowledge test): 10 hours
• New permanent premises licence for farm sales (including knowledge test): 8 hours
• Change of ownership of a permanent premises licence (including knowledge test): 10 hours
• Change in the group of persons with significant influence: 3.5 hours
• Amendment of a permanent premises licence (like extended serving hours or expanded serving area): 3.5 hours
• Temporary licence for the public (single occasion, including knowledge test): 5 hours
• Temporary licence for the public (multiple occasions): A fee is charged per occasion (0.5 hours), but the total cost will not exceed the cost of a permanent licence.
  
• Temporary licence for private events (single occasion, including knowledge test): 3 hours
• Temporary licence for private events (multiple occasions): A fee is charged per occasion (0.5 hours), but the total cost will not exceed the cost of a permanent licence.
  
• Application for change in the group of persons with significant influence: 3.5 hours
• Application for a shared serving area: 5 hours
• Notification of serving premises for catering to private events: 0.5 hours
• Notification of spicing of spirits: 0.5 hours
• Notification of tasting: 0.5 hours
  

Annual supervision fee

Holders of permanent serving permits pay one fixed and one variable supervision fee. The fixed fee equals two hours per year. It is 2,492 SEK for 2026. The variable fee depends on annual turnover of alcoholic beverages. You pay the fixed fee plus the variable fee.

Restaurant report and invoicing

The reporting period is the 1 of January to the 31 of December. Submit the restaurant report no later than the first of March the following year. The supervision fee is invoiced in the spring after the period reported. If the restaurant report has not been submitted by 1 March, a reminder fee will be charged corresponding to one hour of processing time. If the report is still missing after 1 April, an additional fee corresponding to one hour of processing time will be charged. If the report has not been submitted by 30 April, the highest variable supervision fee will be charged.

Important information

Payment must be made to the Environment and Building Committee within the time stated in the decision or on the invoice. For permit cases, the fee must be paid before processing starts. In special cases the committee may reduce or waive the fee, considering the scope of the activity and the need for supervision.
