Insurance for internships and study visits
How the municipality’s insurance applies when you take part in an internship, work training or a study visit.

When and for whom the insurance applies
The insurance covers everyone taking part in internships, workplace-based learning, work training or other labour-market measures that the municipality fully or partly organises, assigns or is responsible for placing (sometimes called the “internship clause” in the liability insurance).
Study visits
The insurance applies during study visits organised by the municipality.
Youth community service
The insurance covers young people sentenced to community service under the Swedish Act on Young Offenders.
Geographic scope
The insurance is valid worldwide.
What the insurance covers
Damage caused by the intern
The municipal liability insurance covers damage caused by the intern during the internship or similar activity.
Driving a motor vehicle
If the intern, as the driver of a motor-driven vehicle, causes damage that cannot be compensated by the vehicle’s compulsory motor third-party liability insurance, the municipality’s insurance may compensate the damage.
Policy limits and deductible
- Personal injury: ten million kronor per claim
- Property damage: ten million kronor per claim
- Pure financial loss: five hundred thousand kronor per claim
- Deductible: one-tenth of the Swedish price base amount
