About the International School of Boden
The school is just south of the Arctic Circle. It serves a growing international community linked to the green industrial transformation in northern Sweden.
Ages served
We educate pupils from age six to nineteen and support smooth transitions between stages.
Teaching approach
Internationally trained teachers provide a high-quality curriculum that is transferable and recognised worldwide. Learning is inquiry-led, inclusive and future-focused.
Daily routines and meals
Campuses are easy to reach by bicycle and public transport. A cooked lunch is served every school day, and a vegetarian option is always available.

Primary Years (ages 6–11)

Pupils complete the Primary Years Exhibition, the Middle Years Personal Project and the Diploma Programme Extended Essay to develop independence and project skills.
Sustainability in practice
Community projects integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to build responsible, future-minded citizens.
Mother tongue education
The school supports development of first languages alongside English and Swedish. From Grade 1, classes are offered based on demand. When five or more pupils request the same language, the school aims to provide qualified native or near-native teachers. Lessons include reading, writing, speaking and cultural learning, and guardians are involved through regular communication and events.
International Baccalaureate
Candidate status
The International School of Boden is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. The school is working towards full authorisation.
Authorised programme
The school is authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and is recognised as an International Baccalaureate World School at that level.

International Baccalaureate World Schools offer programmes that develop curious, knowledgeable and caring young people and uphold high academic standards with respect for diverse cultures and perspectives.
Important note
Only schools that are authorised by the International Baccalaureate may offer its four programmes. Candidate status does not guarantee authorisation.
