Special housing

If you need support, care, or nursing, you can apply for special housing. The municipality runs about twenty homes with different focuses, such as group homes and service housing.

Application and assessment

When you apply, we carry out an assessment together with you to identify your needs. The goal is to give you the right support in the right scope.

Your apartment and rent

In all housing options you are offered a private apartment. You sublet from the municipality and pay rent according to current rules in the Swedish rent legislation.

Staff, healthcare, and safety

Staff are available around the clock. You have access to healthcare via the municipal nurse. Each home has a responsible unit manager.

Group home

A group home suits you if you need more supervision and support. You also get support for leisure, hobbies, and cultural activities. There is a shared common room you can use with neighbours. Relatives can book the room for larger gatherings.

Service housing

Service housing consists of several apartments adapted to the level of staff and support you need. The apartments are usually in the same building or nearby buildings. There is a common room. There is no awake night staff on site, but support is available in the area and can be reached by telephone.

Housing support at home

Housing support is a social and practical support measure under the Swedish Social Services Act. The support is provided in the home and nearby environment. It is tailored to the individual, with the goal that you can live an independent life.

Examples of what housing support can include (can be made collapsible)

  • Support and guidance with planning, organisation, and structure in everyday activities at home and nearby.
  • Support and guidance in social situations, for example at doctor’s appointments or when contacting public authorities.

How to apply

If you want to apply for housing support, contact the municipality’s case officers in the field of support and service for persons with disabilities or in social psychiatry. They investigate, assess, and decide on support.
