Workplaces and daily activities

Boden Municipality offers workplaces for people with a decision for daily activities or employment. There are eleven workplaces to choose from. Tasks are as similar to a regular job as possible. You may work at one or several sites. You can also choose a company or association placement.

Study visits

You and your family are welcome to book study visits. Contact a unit manager or a team leader and we will plan the visit together. Other municipalities and services are also welcome.

Support to enter work

The municipality provides labour-market support to help you move on to work or studies. You cannot apply directly; referrals are made by the Public Employment Service or the Social Services Administration.

Priority groups include young people, newly arrived migrants, people with disabilities, and people who face other barriers to entering the labour market.

Examples of support

  • Work-preparatory activities and projects
  • Internships
  • Temporary municipal employment to gain work experience

Work with us

Our goal is that every adult can take part in working life according to their ability. We support you to reach one hundred percent of your own ability. This can mean a change of daily environment, practising tasks, or preparing for future work.

We use the working method “The Individual’s Needs in the Centre”. It is based on self-determination and privacy. We always build on your needs, interests and strengths.

Safety, community and everyday development

We want you to feel safe, included and that the work is meaningful. Community matters.

Besides work tasks, we support everyday skills, for example:

  • travelling on your own, such as by bus
  • building daily routines
  • trying new tasks
  • studying a subject you are curious about and receiving a grade

The aim is to strengthen your independence so you can decide more over your own life.

Frequently asked questions

You need a decision for daily activities or employment from the Social Services Administration. Support is needs-assessed under the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments and the Social Services Act. A case officer investigates your needs. You apply through the municipality’s e-service.

You may contact a case officer with questions before applying.

After your decision, you meet an employment counsellor for a mapping of your interests and needs. You can visit one or more workplaces before choosing.

You get a team leader as your main contact person. The team leaders support you in daily work and can answer questions.

Yes. When you participate in daily activities or employment with a valid decision, you receive a tax-free habilitation allowance:

  • 60 kronor per day if you participate more than five hours
  • 40 kronor per day if you participate five hours or less

You travel to the workplace yourself. We help you choose the best way, such as bus, bicycle or car. If you have a decision for daily activities and need transport, it is free of charge and we help you book it to match your needs and working hours.
