Diploma Programme

In 2023, we welcome students to an upper secondary education where all subjects are taught in English. Here, the journey to an education that will open doors to the world begins.

In this programme you study to prepare for university and develop a global mindset that helps you towards universities and careers in Sweden or abroad. All subjects (except languages) are taught in English. At the International School of Boden we offer an education with licenced and experienced teachers that will guide you on your journey from day one to graduation.  

The International School of Boden is a Candidate School for the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. The schools are pursuing authorization as IB World Schools. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that International School of Boden believes is important for our students. 

During the first year, Pre-DP (preparatory), you will study upper secondary courses according to the Swedish national curriculum that will be a step on the way to qualify for Swedish universities. During your Pre-DP year, you will also choose either Modern Languages (German, French or Spanish) or Digital Creative Course.

Diploma Programme (years 2 & 3) 

International school of Boden is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School.

After the preparatory year, the Diploma Programme begins, where you in addition to the three core subjects (EE, TOK, CAS), will choose one course from each of the six groups. 

CORE SUBJECTS: Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

GROUP 1: Swedish or English Language and Literature A (self-taught mother tongue also possible)

GROUP 2: English/French/German/Spanish/Swedish B or Swedish Ab Initio (beginner's level)

GROUP 3: Psychology/History/Global Politics/Environmental Systems and Societies SL/Business Management (group 3 or 4)

GROUP 4: Biology/Chemistry/Environmental Systems and Societies SL (group 3 or 4)

GROUP 5: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches/Mathematics Applications and Interpretations

GROUP 6: Film/Visual Arts/Additional language from group 2/Additional subject from group 3 or 4
